About Eloise

Hi, I'm Eloise Persson and this is my record of my journey into the fascinating world of Historical Sewing. I am new to this kind of sewing as of 2016, and most of my learning has come from other historical sewer's blogs.

I've been sewing since I was making little tank tops and pants for my teddies at about 10 years old, progressed to the occasional item of my own clothing in my teens, and then onto the much more boring but practical home decor sewing of cushions and curtains.

I live in Paremata, which is 30 minutes from Wellington, New Zealand. I have three teenage kids and a very long-suffering husband, two dogs (an old Newfoundland and a young English Springer Spaniel) and one cat. Most of my interests are insanely domestic: home decorating and gardening, as well as painting furniture and sewing. My husband and I own a garden centre and decor store, as well as a cafe, so I am extremely lucky to have access to all kinds of lovely plants and home decor.

I'd love to get to know other's who are interested in this unique and creative hobby, so feel free to contact me!
